How did you become a Test Man?
I worked for three years in Technical Support, where I gained my troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn more about our network. After I graduated from college I continued to work in Technical Support and waited for a position to open in our network department.

What’s the most rewarding part of your day?
The most rewarding part of my day is having the opportunity to assist our network engineers and design teams in recognizing the areas of need in our network that will enhance the customer experience.

What do you have in common with the Test Man in the commercials?
The Test Man goes to various places in the commercial testing the network. There have been instances where I was testing the network in the woods, along dams, and in the mountains. Even areas that were hit hard by storms. So just like the Test Man in the commercial, I go everywhere!

Which traits make you a successful Test Man?
My troubleshooting skills and my eagerness and willingness to learn.

What does "It's the Network" mean to you?
The network is the backbone for Verizon Wireless. It has been the number one focus since the company was created. Because we work hard every day to ensure our network is working properly we can stand by what we say. It means our customers can rely on us to provide them with best wireless service that they expect.

Why does Verizon Wireless need to test the network every day?
Our network needs to be tested everyday because our customers use it everyday. They rely on it. If a problem arises we want to know about it before our customers do.

What is the most unique place you have visited to test the Verizon Wireless network?
I was testing at Reynolds Plantation near Lake Oconee in Georgia. Part of the area was in the woods along the lake. The area was very wooded and I could barely get my test vehicle through.

How does Verizon Wireless use the data you collect?
The data I collect is used to compare our network with the competition. Performance Engineers can do an analysis of our performance. The network design team can use the data to determine areas of opportunity to grow and utilize our network more effectively.

What should consumers know about the Verizon Wireless network?
We do feel Verizon Wireless has the best network in the industry. We use the latest technology to test and enhance our network. We know there is always room for improvement and we look for the opportunity every day.

What achievement/aspect of your job are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of the company I work for. Verizon Wireless is a company of integrity. I get to see first-hand how Verizon Wireless can stand by what they project to its customers. How we are the best network in the industry; ensure that our employees are thoroughly trained; provide top customer service.
