How did you become a Test Man?
I was seeking a challenging engineering opportunity with a great company and I found the opportunity with the expansion of the Upstate New York test man team.

What’s the most rewarding part of your day?
Looking back at the end of the day and knowing that I made a difference to our customers and the network.

What do you have in common with the Test Man in the commercials?
I recreate the user experience in many places and under many conditions to ensure that the network is number one every day.

Which traits make you a successful Test Man?
I am obsessive about technical detail. When things go wrong, I enjoy the challenge to make them right. I also love to drive, a very good trait for a Verizon Wireless test person!

What does “It’s the Network” mean to you?
Simply that the network is what makes Verizon Wireless customer communications reliable, easy, and fun.

Why does Verizon Wireless need to test the network every day?
Because our customers are using the network every day. Consistent reliability is my goal and our customers should have no less.

What is the most unique place you have visited to test the Verizon Wireless network?
Without a doubt, the New York State Adirondack Park. The challenge of the terrain and the need for environmental sensitivity make this a unique and challenging area to wireless communications.

How does Verizon Wireless use the data you collect?
Primarily we are able to benchmark our performance against our competitors and also compare our measurements with other independent wireless data gathering agencies. We also use the data to drive plans for network expansion into areas that are increasing in phone and data usage and areas that are currently not serviced.

What should consumers know about the Verizon Wireless network?
Using our mobile test equipment, I “see” the network working every day. From a truly objective engineering viewpoint based upon hard data, I have no qualms about assuring our customers that the Verizon Wireless network is the nation’s most reliable wireless network.

What achievement/aspect of your job are you most proud of?
Successfully maintaining our extensive and complex mobile testing equipment while never skipping a beat when it comes to meeting and exceeding our test area schedules and requirements.
