How did you become a Test Man?
I like driving, nature and electronics. What a perfect job for me.
What’s the most rewarding part of your day? Getting out in the field and enjoying nature; discovering how our network gets more reliable every day because of all the investments we make and attention we give it.
What do you have in common with the Test Man in the commercials? Not the glasses or the hat, but his assertiveness of and focus on our network’s reliability.
Which traits make you a successful Test Man? I value integrity, I’m resourceful and I love the open road.
What does “It’s the Network” mean to you?
It puts an extra sense of responsibility on me to make sure I’m doing the best job that I can in collecting accurate data and following procedures. When customers choose Verizon Wireless, I know that my work makes a difference.
Why does Verizon Wireless need to test the network every day?
Testing the network enables us to identify patterns in network usage and potential issues, so that we can make it even more reliable every day.
How does Verizon Wireless use the data you collect?
To determine where we need to expand coverage and increase capacity.
What should consumers know about the Verizon Wireless network? They should know that, just like in the TV commercials, in real life there are hundreds and possibly thousands of people working behind the scenes that are dedicated to make Verizon Wireless’ network the most reliable.
What achievement/aspect of your job are you most proud of?
Processing my own collected data and seeing first hand the results of the testing.
