How did you become a Test Man?
I worked 10+ years repairing customers’ cellular phones and pagers. When we became Verizon Wireless and the Test Man position was available, I transitioned there and I've been in the position ever since.
What’s the most rewarding part of your day?
Knowing that I am making a difference.
What do you have in common with the Test Man in the commercials?
I would say that we both work hard to make sure we have the best and most reliable network!
Which traits make you a successful Test Man?
I like to drive and travel.
What does “It’s the Network” mean to you?
Plans and phone are great but if you cannot use them they are useless.
Why does Verizon Wireless need to test the network every day?
The network changes daily and testing the network ensures any problems are fixed fast.
What is the most unique place you have visited to test the Verizon Wireless network?
The Superman statue in Metropolis. (And yes, there really is a Metropolis -- it’s in Illinois, and there’s a Superman Museum).
How does Verizon Wireless use the data you collect?
It is used not only check the performance of our network, but to ensure that Verizon Wireless stays the best.
What should consumers know about the Verizon Wireless network?
That there are people testing daily.
What achievement/aspect of your job are you most proud of?
Watching information that is collected put to use to improve the network.
